TIERGARTEN. A GERMAN ROMANTIC GARDEN – Amparo Garrido, 2019
“The love of Nature manifests itself, among other things, through the desire to enjoy landscapes and the well-being caused by their proximity. So it’s normal to travel to the outskirts of the city in search of that enjoyment.A more “urban” genre is the poetic movement with impressive gardens as its protagonist, which throughout history has enriched poets with countless metaphors about the qualities of a garden, its flowers, sometimes with a certain baroqueness but always with great beauty. This poetic genre present in the Tiergarten is clearly reflected by Amparo Garrido in her photographs where she expresses the impact that the contemplation of nature has had on her. Light, shadow and color are projected in her pictures, like a visual poem, just as a painter would place on his canvas. To gaze upon Amparo Garrido’s pictures is like reading Octavio Paz in his poem “Written in Green Ink”.”
